YMCA is international, voluntary service, nongovernmental, unprofitable, ecumenical youth organization independent from politics and religion. YMCA is spread in over 130 countries world wide and has over 45 million members. At the moment YMCA is one of the biggest youth organizations in the world. The Headquarter of the World Alliance of YMCAs is in Geneva, Switzerland and of European Alliance (EAY) of YMCAs in Prague, Czech Republic. EAY consists of 40 movements (countries). EAY has over 6 800 local associations. EAY extends from the Azores in the west till Novosibirsk in east and from Malta on south till Polar Circle on north. YMCA through its programs aims to make young people grow in the wholeness of spirit, mind and body. The awareness to form the future generations talented with tolerance, adaptability, and understanding for our close, gives to the YMCA the necessary strong YMCA in different countries is known by different names depending on their languages. In Macedonia and other countries in South Eastern Europe is known as IMKA. The sign of YMCA is a red triangle with the logo “for healthy spirit, mind and body”. |
